While waiting for the end, many things go through your mind.  Sitting in the decommission dockyard (or junkyard for you humans) allowed me plenty of time to do just that. I wanted to leave Gallifrey and see the universe.  I wanted to ride the Time Winds and feel free. It appeared as though that would not happen now. I was told by the other Timeships that I was old, out of date, that my time had passed. How ironic is that? I had watched as the orders were given and was placed in a state of hibernation as a precaution. I knew what was in store for me. The technicians would enter using a master key then input the override protocol to start the shut down sequence. Once the sequence was completed, they would release the clamps on my console and open the main panel allowing the artron energy from my heart to seep out. I wondered when my awareness would cease. Would it happen suddenly after the shut down protocol or slowly as my heart bled out? I was frightened but had no way of leaving. Even if I could break free of the temporal locks, I still needed a Time Lord to get past the transduction barriers.

"There is a Time Lord coming." The other Timeships began murmuring

At first I thought this was another rumour but sure enough several days later, I sensed a young Time Lord as he entered the dockyard. He was holding a small bag and dressed in Patrexian robes. He was unsure of most things except for two…he wanted to run away and he needed a way to do it. I could not believe my luck but knew my chances of being chosen were low. There were seven, more modern capsules there and I had been placed in the back area of the dockyard. I felt he would surly pick a newer model. I had to find a way of bringing him to my door. I started slowly but quietly singing and opened my door just slightly. Nearby my fellow Timeships telepathically sent their disapproving feelings. They had not developed this skill and were no match for me. The young Time Lord was inspecting the second capsule when he stopped suddenly.

"Which one of you is doing that?"    He inquired.

They other capsules remained quiet for the last thing they wanted was to direct him to me. I kept singing and gradually raised my tone to draw him closer. He walked past the other five capsules and stopped in front of my doors.

"Hello, Old Girl."  He said with a smile. "Are you trying to get my attention? If so, it worked. You know what…you'll do just fine."

I responded quietly so he could not hear. "And you, young Time Lord, are just what I need and I won't be givng you back."

He pushed the door open and stepped inside. As he made his way to my console, I closed my door slowly and locked it. He stopped and gingerly placed his hand on my console.

"You are the most beautiful thing I will ever know." He whispered.

He opened his bag and pulled out a device which hummed to life. I felt a power activate and take control of my systems. At first, I resisted which the Time Lord sensed.

"Now calm down. If you want to leave, you mustn't fight. You are in no condition to get past the transduction barriers so unless you want to bleed out here in this place, I suggest you stop resisting."

I decided that relinquishing control for now was in my best interest and allowed the device to take full control.

"Good! Now, my name is…"  He stopped suddenly and seemed deep in thought for a brief moment before continuing. "….is not as important as us getting away from here."

He walked swiftly around my console reviewing each panel. It was then I realized that he was not familiar with my console. He did find the lever to close my inner doors then moved the stellar manipulator closer to my console. It began my dematerialisation sequence and we left. Right away we had trouble due to our conflicting natures. He was young, brass and still in his first body. He thought he knew more than me even though I was much older. He hadn't even bothered to pay attention to many of his classes, let alone take the time to read a capsule manual.

"You don't know how to pilot me, do you? What have you been doing all this time?"

"I am the Time Lord and you are a Timeship. That means you do not question me."

I quickly dropped back 100 years in the past in the Time Vortex causing him to suddenly feel nauseous. He retaliated by kicking my console.

"STOP IT!"   We both yelled at each other.  The Time Lord walked over to the corner of the console room and stared at my Time Rotor with a deep frown. After a while, he spoke in a low tone

"I have to get someone from Gallifrey."    He stated as he started towards my console.

"What?! You want to go BACK? You have lost your Gallifreyan mind, Time Lord! If I go back, they will catch us both. Who is this -someone-?"

"Don't worry. I have a plan that will allow us to elude the Chancellery Guard. I need you to go back in time about 20 years and…"

"Going back into Gallifrey's history is breaking a major Law of Time. You know this."

"Oh ho, this coming from a rebel Time capsule that would not do as she was told. The person I wish to retrieve is family and I feel she would enjoy seeing the universe. Besides, you and her would get along beautifully."

I thought for a brief moment then replied to him. "If we do get caught, I will make sure they know you stole me."

"Fair enough, I will take full responsibility. I was down there to do just that. You just happen to be the one I chose."

I smiled to myself and thought. "That's what you think."

He reached over and pull my main control lever and we headed back to Gallifrey's past. A very serious offence but the reward was well worth it. We picked up the girl and was gone again before the Matrix could register us. I was glad to have the young Gallifreyan on-board since she was able to deflect some of the tension between me and this young Time Lord. Our travels in the beginning were not easy. Many times we argued and fought for control. It was only after we both dropped all mental shields that we came to the realisation that we were the same. We were outcasts from our own kind and had no one else to depend on. Neither of us had intended on forming a bond with the other but a strong one developed. This was when he finally told me his name but asked me to call him "The Doctor". This young renegade Time Lord had found a way into my heart.

This is so cute! I love anything TARDIS POV. However, one minor critique I have is that Susan's name, on Gallifrey, was actually Arkytior.
